Saol Community

A concept to deliver supported living
Let's Talk

Saol Community is a concept

Delivering supported living to the retired, the elderly and those with developing care needs within their own communities and in an integrated and intergenerational context.

Generally people want to continue to live as independently and healthily as possible, in their own homes, close to family, friends and community resources in a secure and caring environment and with care accessible to the extent required.

“Real social change happens when a group of people work out a way of living better – and others copy."

What we provide

In addition to high quality and spacious private residential apartments Saol delivers common facilities and services to support healthy independent living. Additionally, Saol provides Early Years facilities to local families and temporary Step-Down support to local residents returning from hospital en route to their own homes and Respite services to families caring for elderly relatives.

Saol works closely with communities and other stakeholders in order to professionally address planning, health and safety and environmental  requirements. All to maintain the social contract with our neighbourhoods to everyone’s benefit.

“The unit for social change is the community / neighbourhood. Not the town, not the city, not even you or me. It’s your local community. It’s not ‘top down! “

Residential Developers
  • We are interested in suitable sites for Saol Community developments throughout Scotland
  • We can provide you with options with regard to the “social use” element of the planning guidelines
  • Opportunities for additional construction activity
Picture
Local Authorities
  • We passionately believe that members of the older generation have much to offer Society not least through their accumulated knowledge and networks and we should facilitate their continued active community participation
  • Can we assist with solutions to delayed discharge challenges?
  • Is there a demand for Respite in your area currently proving difficult to accommodate?
  • Is the provision of state of the art Early Years infrastructure, at no capital cost, attractive?
